Botox and Fillers (Face, Neck, Lips, and Hands)

Botox

Botox is a popular nonsurgical treatment method for erasing wrinkles—especially, crow’s feet or smile lines around the eyes, frown lines between the eyebrows, and forehead lines—or so-called expression lines that show when you get emotional. Botox not only relaxes facial muscles but also treats excessive sweating and softens the appearance of the face.

The treatment, which takes about 10 minutes, lasts from 3 to 6 months and may be done from 2 to 4 times a year.

Restylane

Restylane is an innovation that makes use of a crystal-clear gel that holds water, hydrates, and gives volume to the skin such as for making lips more luscious, kissable, and plumper as well as for enhancing your profile and smoothing out lines and wrinkles. The best part is it does not affect your facial expression or facial movements.

Restylane is a crystal clear gel that is injected into—or just under—the skin in small amounts to bring back lost volume and structure. The gel, being based on hyaluronic acid, much the same as that of the body’s hyaluronic acid but of non-animal origin, makes it safe even without skin tests with minimal risks of hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.

The long-lasting but nonpermanent results gives you freedom to maintain or change the effect, which lasts from 6 to 12 months and, with one re-treatment, even up to 18 months for the face. Re-treatment, however, is needed in 6 months to maintain full lips.

Juvuderm

Juvederm, the only HA filler especially formulated for restoring moderate to severe facial wrinkles and sagging that the FDA has approved that could last up to one year.

The injectable smooth gel dermal filler instantly gives volume and smoothens away facial wrinkles and sag folds—such as smile lines and nasolabial parentheses folds—that runs from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

Side effects that can last up to 7 days include temporary mild to moderate injection-site reactions—including redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps—making Juvederm not the best choice if you have allergies.
